Summary

AccuWeather For Business provides exclusive life-saving advance warnings and superior forecasts ahead of severe thunderstorms giving businesses much-needed time to prepare and keep their employees safer.

Key Highlights

AccuWeather warned about life-threatening flooding in Pennsylvania more than 12 hours in ADVANCE when the government and all other public sources DID NOT forecast flooding or issue a Flood Watch.

AccuWeather was the ONLY source to provide an advance warning on the first tornado touchdown on Sept. 13.

AccuWeather exclusively provided 21 minutes of ADDITIONAL advance notice for a tornado in Rhode Island compared to warnings issued by the government and all other public sources.

AccuWeather’s expert meteorologists provided AccuWeather For Business customers with exclusive customized warnings and alerts during severe storms in the Northeast between Sept. 9-13. The advance warning allowed businesses to best prepare for the torrential rains, damaging winds, and tornadoes in parts of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

AccuWeather meteorologists exclusively provided more advance notice, better description of the risks, and in several cases, issued the only advance warning on an imminent tornado or flash flood. These severe storms brought up to 2 inches of rain an hour, leading to flooded cars and trucks. The downpours also washed away bridges and roads. The thunderstorms produced multiple tornadoes, downing trees, and power lines, causing power outages. Businesses and warehouses were also damaged during the storm.
