The advance warning allowed businesses to best prepare for the torrential rains, damaging winds, and tornadoes in parts of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
AccuWeather meteorologists exclusively provided more advance notice, better description of the risks, and in several cases, issued the only advance warning on an imminent tornado or flash flood. These severe storms brought up to 2 inches of rain an hour, leading to flooded cars and trucks. The downpours also washed away bridges and roads. The thunderstorms produced multiple tornadoes, downing trees, and power lines, causing power outages. Businesses and warehouses were also damaged during the storm.
September 9, 2023 - Devastating flash flooding in Northeastern Pennsylvania
