AccuWeather’s expert meteorologists provided AccuWeather For Business customers with exclusive customized warnings and alerts during severe storms in the Northeast between Sept. 9-13. The advance warning allowed businesses to best prepare for the torrential rains, damaging winds, and tornadoes in parts of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
AccuWeather meteorologists exclusively provided more advance notice, better description of the risks, and in several cases, issued the only advance warning on an imminent tornado or flash flood. These severe storms brought up to 2 inches of rain an hour, leading to flooded cars and trucks. The downpours also washed away bridges and roads. The thunderstorms produced multiple tornadoes, downing trees, and power lines, causing power outages. Businesses and warehouses were also damaged during the storm.
AccuWeather’s expert meteorologists issued highly accurate forecasts, backed by Superior Accuracy, for downpours and flooding to multiple business clients, including transportation customers.
AccuWeather customers were the best informed of this dangerous situation. Businesses relying on the government and all other public sources would not have been informed and had the actionable insights to make the best decisions.
An example of AccuWeather’s Superior Accuracy™, during the afternoon of September 13, preliminary reports suggest that multiple tornadoes touched down in eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island.
