Paul Pastelok
Lead U.S. Long-Range Forecaster - AccuWeather
Paul Pastelok has been with AccuWeather for 30 years. With experience in commodity and drought forecasting, he leads a team that provides short—to long-range forecasts for locations across the globe, including Europe, Canada, South America, and Asia. He has worked extensively with clients in radio, television, broadcasting, and newspapers and hosts a weekly podcast.

Jonathan Porter
Senior Vice President, Weather Content and Forecast Operations and Chief Meteorologist - AccuWeather
Jonathan Porter is AccuWeather’s Senior Vice President, Weather Content and Forecast Operations, and Chief Meteorologist. He is one of AccuWeather’s most accomplished subject matter experts. In this key leadership role, he blends his background in meteorology, weather news forecasting, and information technology to collaborate with the world’s leading government meteorological services and other key data providers to acquire top-tier weather information and content to integrate the most advanced weather data and technologies into AccuWeather’s products and services. Jon led AccuWeather’s B2B unit, AccuWeather For Business (formerly AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions or AES), for four years, delivering valuable new products to the company’s portfolio to help businesses minimize losses and liability while maximizing profits and operational efficiency. AccuWeather For Business achieved significant growth during his tenure.
Jon joined AccuWeather in 2004 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Information Technology. For several years, Jon was a software engineer on a dedicated team, writing software to quickly and accurately process weather content through AccuWeather’s Enterprise IT Architecture. After serving as a Technical Account Manager, working directly with top global digital media partners to help them integrate data and content with their products, Jon was named Director of Innovation and Development in 2012 and promoted to Vice President of Innovation and Development in 2015.
Jon is a Professional Member of the American Meteorological Society. In 2012, he was appointed to the AMS Committee on Weather Analysis and Forecasting. He also serves on an alumni committee for Penn State’s Department of Meteorology. Jon frequently delivers presentations at conferences and professional meetings – specifically focused on the exchange of weather data and warnings.

Paul Pastelok - AccuWeather
LEAD U.S. LONG-RANGE FORECASTER
Paul Pastelok has been with AccuWeather for over 30 years. He has worked extensively with a variety of clients in radio and television broadcasting, newspapers, international forecasting, utility and construction companies, and now has a weekly long-range podcast.
Paul leads a team that focuses mainly on energy and retail clients and makes forecasts ranging from short-term to as far out as 12 months. The department has expanded globally and has developed long-range forecasts for Europe, Canada, South America and Asia. Paul also has experience in commodity, transportation, tropical and global drought forecasting.

Dan DePodwin - AccuWeather
Vice President, Forecasting Operations
Dan DePodwin has diverse work experience in the field of meteorology. Dan started their career as a Climate Analyst at Rutgers University in 2004 and worked there until 2008. In 2007, they joined the Campus Weather Service at Penn State University as the Head of Forecasting, a role they held until 2011. During their time at Penn State, they also served as a Teaching Assistant, Forecaster, Lab Assistant, Intern, and Grader for various meteorology-related positions. In 2010, they briefly worked as an Analyst for the Commercial Applied Research Team at Mars, Inc.
In 2011, DePodwin joined AccuWeather, where they have held multiple roles over the years. Dan started as a Meteorologist and then progressed to positions of increasing responsibility, including Manager of Forecast Systems, Director of Forecast Data and Systems, and Manager of Forecasting. From 2019 to 2021, they served as the Director of Forecasting Operations, then Senior Director of Forecasting Operations, before being named Vice President of Forecasting Operations.
Dan DePodwin obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology with a focus in Forecasting and Geographic Information Sciences from Penn State University between 2007 and 2011.

Tyler Knowlton - Host
Director of Communications, AccuWeather
Tyler Knowlton joined the Plume Labs team in 2017 to lead the company’s strategic communications and community engagement efforts. He has over 15 years of experience in public relations, communications, and policy development. Since launching AccuWeather's Climate Impact Program last year he has been connecting journalists, academics, and community groups with the data they need to protect the planet from two of its greatest threats: climate action failure and extreme weather.
