A winter storm will bring up to a foot of snow from the Northwest to the Great Lakes this weekend. AccuWeather For Business meteorologists are urging businesses to prepare for the heavy snow that could lead to dangerous travel conditions that will make transporting goods and services difficult, with snow-covered roads and low visibility.
Up to 6 inches is possible from Montana to the Great Lakes. Up to a foot of snow can fall in the higher elevations of the Rockies to southern South Dakota and northern Nebraska, with an AccuWeather Local StormMax™ of 24 inches in the Rockies.
Get ready - because behind the storm will be Artic air that will move into the northern part of the U.S. this weekend, bringing temperatures 20 to 30 degrees lower than Friday. AccuWeather meteorologists warn Monday morning lows will be near 0 degrees. This air mass will likely be the coldest so far for 2023 in this region and the coldest since the third week of December. Businesses operating outdoors or with employees working in the cold should take precautions to keep employees safe from the temperatures.
