Heavy snowfall is expected to continue spreading south through Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas into New Mexico through Monday. Significant travel disruptions are anticipated as roads will quickly become snow covered and slippery as temperatures steadily fall.
In addition to snow, an intense push of Arctic air is expected to impact the northern Rockies and northern Plains early this week. This air mass has the potential to set several daily record low temperatures from the Rockies into the Plains through Tuesday.
In addition to the cold and snow, ice is also occurring as far south as west Texas, western and central Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas and is expected in southwestern Missouri from early Monday into Wednesday morning. This may result in major travel and commerce disruptions as significant ice storm may unfold for parts of the southern Plains that are hit the hardest.
