Heavy snow to spread from the Plains to the Northeast

AccuWeather meteorologists are closely monitoring a snowstorm that will bring heavy snowfall from the southern Plains to the Northeast over the next few days. 

Widespread snow of up to 3 inches is expected from the Southern Plains into the Midwest through Tuesday. The heaviest snow will fall across western Oklahoma and southern Minnesota areas, where businesses could see up to 6 inches of accumulating snow. There is an AccuWeather Local StormMax™ of 10 inches of snow for the Plains.

The snowfall will move to the east Tuesday into Wednesday night across the Northeast. Businesses should prepare for up to 3 inches of snow in the higher elevations of Pennsylvania, New York, and New England. Heavier snow amounts of up to 12 inches will fall across northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. There is an AccuWeather Local StormMax™ of 16 inches of snow for the Northeast.

The well below-normal temperatures will be felt across most of the county east of the Rocky Mountains as cold air moves south out of Canada. The temperatures will bring the coldest air of the season for areas along the I-95 corridor from Washington, D.C., to New York City.
